I just did a fresh install of Maverick on a separate partition of my laptop. The first login showed the panel without errors. Then I installed the recent upgrades (which should have been installed by the installation procedure already. Somehow they weren't, but that's another bug...) and activated the nvidia graphics driver as suggested by the system. After the reboot I had a corrupted panel again, as I am used to.

So, I can confirm this bug has nothing todo with upgrading :-(
