Seb just pointed out to me that the logout applet is not actually
deprecated. Previously I understood it that way, and thus looked for
solutions in that direction. So since that's obviously not the case,
the dynamic replacement is wrong, and I discard that proposal.

Right, that's not something we'd ever want to do as an Ubuntu patch,
let alone this close to a release.
