I confirm that this is a bug.
After you use e.g. alt+s to switch session, you can modify the password field even if you click on it with the mouse.
I think that it would be best if the tab key would cycle through everything, i.e. both login users and passwords and the options (like sessions) at the bottom. And having alt+s as a faster shortcut is great, but I think that alt+p should get you back to the password field?
