Good catch, 2.6.29-21.fc11.x86_64 here, no problems with fuse.

This is weird. Were there any nautilus errors on the uxterm shell? Could be
broken thumbnailer, but that should not make Nautilus unusable.

You can use other tools, like mc (Midnight Commander) in a terminal or bash
commands
