Its kinda weird that you see the fusermount and mount processes after the first login. These are supposed to be shortlived things that run and exit, only gvfs-fuse-daemon should be running for any longer period.
So, it seems to me that the process of mounting the fuse filesystem on ~/.gvfs somehow hangs.
Maybe you could try attaching to the fusermount and/or mount processes and get a backtrace?
