Fuse still needs to be updated to take advantage of the new --no-canonicalize option in util-linux. Until fuse is updated to 2.8.3 or later this problem will continue to happen. I'm not the maintainer of fuse for Fedora so I can't do it, whoever owns the package is going to have to do it.
