As a workaround, add an entry in /etc/hosts for fpdownload.macromedia.com to a webserver you control. Then, download install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz to a directory under your webserver root to satisfy the package's wget command:

Not quite as simple as aluink's solution (and certainly not adequate for any mothers out there ;) but results in a "cleaner" fix.
