I'm a NoSquint user as well. How do you zoom text when you are in the French layout? I do not understand your objection. Are you objecting to the patch's modification of symbols or not? On what basis? Are you saying that the default French layout is not convienent for keyboard text zoom, so you prefer the alternative layout? Do you use one keyboard layout (French) for some operations (copy, paste) and a different layout for others (text zoom)?

I would not expect that. The French being what they are! [1]

That's not my assumption. My assumption is that users will want to have the same keyboard accelerators in all layouts. It _seems_ that you do not. Please clarify if this is your case. I believe that this bug is for those who _want_ the same accelerators regardless of layout (see bug title), so if you need different accelerators for different layouts, this isn't the place. I'm not being rude, I'm just trying to help you achieve the accelerator behaviour that you need.

[1]: That is a joke. I actually admire the French resistance to foreign influence, especially with regard to language and culture.
