I can confirm this bug on an amd64 system.

BUT: my home directory is NOT mounted as ext4. It is on a seperate ext3 partition, with a symlink in my home directory.

I deleted the ~/.mozilla/firefox-3.5 directory, same problem... so no locking issue.
