If followed correctly, the 'lines of code' as noted above will fix the error, provided that you meet the following conditions, explicitly.
- You are indeed running Ubuntu 8.04.1 32bit.
- You are running Firefox 3.
Use each line separately rather than in a block. Under Applications > Accesories you will find 'Terminal'. Copy and then paste (using [shift] + [ins]) the first line into the terminal session, press enter, following any instructions you are given on screen, repeat this for the other three lines of code. Fixed the problem for me and countless clients.
