Not sure how the problem was "solved", but in my case I am still seeing the MP multiple prompts. I am using stable release version, so not sure if that applies...

Wouldn't it be possible to just cache in the saved session the necessity of entering MP for a certain tab(s) and BEFORE the bunch of tabs/windows is loaded, try to ask the MP? Is it possible to show just the dialog without opening any of the main ff windows?

In my experience even if there's no MP required for any of the saved session pages, you will get the prompt sooner or later so asking for MP on start up is OK for me. If that is out of a question then I would like to see an option "Always ask for MP on start-up" which would save a lot of trouble with "Master Password Prompt Hell".
