I suspect that it is Cairo, because when I printed notok.gif to PDF, I got it
blank. More precisely it is blank in XPDF, but Ghoscript shows a black square
in the place where should be the picture, apparently because it does not
support transparency. I don't think that the X server is involved in printing
in anyway, and as far as I know, printing in Firefox 3 is based on Cairo. Also,
the problem exists in any Firefox 3 snapshots that I found. The earliest that I
tried was April 7, 2006. All of them are based on Cairo...
