It might be possible that this is indeed some X.org (specifically, "nv" driver?) issue that is only exposed by FF3. However, the interesting bit is that

1. The same issues don't occur on FF2

2. I have seen no issues whatsoever with other applications (and that includes graphic-intensive ones like movie players, image editing, etc.) when using the same X.org and driver.
