I have just tried to use the "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" option on my Opensuse 10.3 system. I use a Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX card with the latest Nvidia driver 173.14.05 on a X86_64 architecture. I tried the option with and without the trailing "on". The xorg X-server version is 7.2.0 (7.2.0-135.4 rpm package from SuSE). All relevant rpm packages for the system are from the SuSE repositories. KDE version is 3.5.9.

The settings did not change anything regarding the bad FF 3.0 image scaling on this system. The scaling quality remains that of a nearest neighbor interpolation as with FF 2.x. So it seems that there are more factors involved than just the XAA thing. At least when you use the drivers from Nvidia.
