This bug is still closed; any chance that it can be re-opened given the large number of users it affects? (The bug even made the RC1 release notes :) )
If nothing else, there has to be a workaround even if it is not a FF problem, as other programs work fine.
I would think this bug should be a showstopper for 3.0 as it makes the display of some websites quite broken.
