We have switched a system over from the nv to the proprietary nvidia driver. Problems seems to have been solved. Another issue with the desktop is that the screensavers were not working. In the preview they were black and the open source nv driver. Now everything is working and visible again.

Later today we will switch back again and see how the state of the system for the open source nv driver is now
