I confirm this behaviour with firefox on my laptop:
DELL Latitude D830
Intel T7100 @ 1.8GHz
2GB RAM
Hardy (all updates until April 5)

FF3 Beta 4, did not have this issue. It started on April 5, after the update to Beta 5.
