AMD is not making any progress for this, and there's little we can do about that beyond the regular nagging on the status calls. We are now focusing on providing the latest free -ati driver which will work on modern chips as well. Please see bug 334101 for details.

Thus I take this off the release blocker list. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't provide a working fglrx driver in jaunty, of course, but it shouldn't be on the release team radar any more.
