ATI proprietary driver v.8.12 does list Ubuntu/jaunty as supported distribution and also mentions it in the release notes. Tried to install on 20090311.1 daily build with –buildandinstallpkg.
Result: According to Xorg.log DRM module fails to load. Reason: X.org version 7.1 detected. Expected version 7.4.
Kernel module loaded correctly.

Also tried to install on a recompiled from GIT kernel/headers. Initial module build fails. Reason – can not find version.h.
