I have the same problem with Intrepid 32bits and ATI Radeon HD 3450.

ii fglrx-kernel-source 2:8.543-0ubuntu4

Videos (totem, mplayer, vlc), Gogleearth and 3D applications are blinking all the time.

Gabriel your Option does not work for me.

I attach my lspci, Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf
