I tryed it with Ubuntu Server Beta and happened the same.

I installed a RAID 1 where the partiions are
 1 GB Swap
 10 GB /
 rest of the disk /var

 My root device should be (hd0,1) but grub was configured for use hd0,0 (the swap partition) and the re-boot after the installation failled.
