Comment 2 for bug 31619

I followed the steps in the wiki on a Compaq Evo N1000C (ati 7500 mobile), and got the same graphical corruption. The corruption disapeared when the desktop had finished loading though. when using synaptic the same corruption woudl appear over the icons and text.
i seem to have messed up my setup trying to fix it, so no screenshots im afraid. :/.
I will look into trying to reproduce it later (could it be related to the ati driver bug?)
