The "cdrom-detect/try-usb=true" functionality differs on different USB drivers. On my Kingston DATATraveler 1 GB it does not work at all, but on a Dane Elec 4 GB device it hangs later in the process (Failed loading installer components from CD).

I'am trying this on an INTEL D510MO installing Ubuntu 10.10 server release. Same problem using both Universal USB installer & Unetbootin from windows on a vFat usb stick.
