    May I ask where you got the old kernel? I've seen more than one person say that old kernels work fine, so this may be the way to go until the bug gets fixed.

PS: to make sure this gets noticed, maybe we should assign it to someone who is or knows a kernel developer? That way, someone would start taking the steps to really fixing it:)
