I noticed some "New in repository" items via Synaptic Package Manager.
Ran those - had to uninstall "bluez-compat"
This installed libbluetooth3 and blueman (0.5) and some other items.
Now I start blueman after PC boots to gnome and its all working. blueman also has a much better interface
