I just ran "apt-get purge ampache && apt-get update && apt-get install ampache" and still haven't got that symlink created.

$ apt-cache policy ampache
ampache:
  Installed: 3.4.3-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.4.3-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.4.3-0ubuntu1 0
