I'm affected by the same problem for tvtime due to a missing /dev/mixer.
My Leadtek card is:
02:0b.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and Audio Decoder (rev 05)
This issue has been present during the last development cycles (Karmic and/or Lucid) and fixed so I'm a bit surprised that this one pops upp again as an issue.
