My name is Francesco, I'm a very unexperienced user of Ubuntu, I've just intsalled Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic on my Acer Aspriron one 532h and Im experiencing the same issue with the microphone using Skype: everything works fine when I use headphones, but then without headphones the speaker input does not work.

I see that you find a solution, but how may I implement this solution on my PC?
