Alejandro: I *THINK* it means that when we force the app to look for a Pulse server that _doesn't exist_ (we are not providing on localhost by default AFAIK), the app falls back to ALSA, which works (with backports.) This puts the blame on Pulse (or a Pulse<->ALSA interaction), and I think this info should be enough for someone with a clue (and an Acer?) to do some real debugging...
