With 2.6.24-16-generic and nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio I still have the problem here. With manually compiled alsa modules, it works though.

P.S.: Is there a way to prevent that manually compiled modules (via m-a a-i ...) are being overwritten when the kernel packages are being upgraded?
