In addition to previously proposed commands

# dpkg -P acroread
or
2)
# apt-get remove acroread
this issue can also be solved simply through synaptic for those who have some difficulties with command line:
open synaptic, search for acroread, and remove packages directly related to acroread and coming from medibuntu repository (version 8.10).
then install the acroread package from jaunty.
I solved my issue this way, which is easier to find all related packages, that may cause later conflicts with the new jaunty package.
