Not sure what's the correct procedure, but here's what I did to supply the requested acpidump:
1) enable acer_wmi (because I have it blacklisted) sudo modprobe acer_wmi
2) held down key "t", periodic hickups (freezes) happened
3) sudo acpidump > /tmp/acpidump.out
4) uname -a Linux as5520g 2.6.31-21-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 24 07:28:27 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
5) lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 Codename: karmic
