What don't put this issue is critical?

For me is a really good reason to switch on Debian (or other REAL open dist). All dist has perhaps this issue BUT i don't think they stay with a "wishlist" importance after all this comments....

What the problem with Ubuntu team?

I lose my hard disc on a 7 month old t60p with a very high load cycle count:
