Hi,

Why has this been made a dup of a Fix Committed bug, when the problem is clearly still valid.
IMHO, Ubuntu should override the insane hardware defaults, or find out why Ubuntu is writing to the disk every 30 seconds, to cause discs to spin down & then back up again.
