I tested my laptop again with Windows XP and got really different result this time, Windows just does a Load_Cycle_Count each 3 minutes. I don't know why it's different now but here it seems that yes, ubuntu does a Load_Cycle_Count very more oftenly than Windows. More, Ubuntu still get around 1 Load Cycle per minute when the laptop has been booted while it was plugged ( not on battery ). Is that bad? According to the fact that a laptop maximum SMART attribute is 900000, I would say that yes.. something is probably wrong.

However, my Desktop Dell PC still doesn't get a Load_Cycle_Count in one hour, that seems completely normal. So the problem doesn't appear in any PC.

Is there a HardDrive expert who would be able to confirm if the ubuntu behavior is or isn't correct?
