Hi.
Somethin from my smartctrl:
    3 Spin_Up_Time 0x0007 100 100 025 Pre-fail Always - 2752
    4 Start_Stop_Count 0x0032 099 099 000 Old_age Always - 1013
    9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 099 099 000 Old_age Always - 707090
  12 Power_Cycle_Count 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 601
225 Load_Cycle_Count 0x0012 001 001 000 Old_age Always - 1230345

The hdd is Samsung HM-120JI, have 14 months. Often running 24/7. 1230345 > 600k like for me. Increase was high. Stoped with -B254, but temperature increased.
What is more dangerous - high Load_Cycle_Count VS -B254, higher temperature and shock-temper on that setting?
