I sincerely apologize for the confusion.

What I meant was that the webcam was NOT working on my HP dv9005ca
running Ubuntu 8.10

The output from terminal were correct:

from lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 05ca:1810 Ricoh Co., Ltd

lsmod | grep videodev
videodev 41344 1 uvcvideo
v4l1_compat 22404 2 uvcvideo,videodev
