Wrong suggestion for a different series linked to the same series

Adi, please give links to actual messages which display these suggestions so we can more easily track them down (or don't translate the new suggestions, so we can see them :). Though, I'd suspect it is one of the existing bugs related to showing suggestions from message-sharing pofiles, sometimes even with the wrong sequence number.

All translations for user chornsokun were displayed as new suggestions.

Ok, these probably showed up because of message sharing migration that's in progress. They were probably there in hardy or some other release, and when we "merged" all these templates into one, they got a combined set of suggestions.

However, it seems something is going very wrong, because this person usually does Khmer (km) translations, and all the tomboy suggestions got updated on the same date 2009-12-16 (probably when we did the migration for tomboy):

Jeroen, do you have any idea how this could have happened with suggestions which are from late 2008 (i.e. it's not something ancient)? Adi, can you confirm Ubuntu Romanian team existed and was moderated at the time (so "chornsokun" couldn't accidentally put them into Romanian)?

The confusion between Ubuntu releases is a known bug involving the fact that some of the db schema elements that became obsolete with message sharing are actually still used in a few places.

The suggestions are indeed in Khmer. I'm still looking at how they could have gotten into a Romanian translation; there are several possibilities. Still looking into that.

Quick update: these suggestions were all made in the web UI, apparently in one session. None were ever approved.

An addition for the historical record: it is entirely plausible that message sharing "unmasked" some suggestions that weren't being displayed before. In this case we're seeing multiple changes made separately by the same person but in one sitting. That suggests that the changes were simply made in the wrong place. If there were a language-crossing problem in the message-sharing migration code, we would probably have seen a more arbitrary mix of languages and contributions here and elsewhere. As it is, it's possible that a link posted somewhere in the past directed translators who didn't realize that the page was meant for Romanian translations.
