Comment 27 for bug 246800

Hello people...

I'm having a problem like that. My Ubuntu 8.10 (2.6.27-9-generic x86_64) "appears" to have no sound at all. I've tried everything described here, including to kill pulseaudio. But, as my laptop have 2 jacks, I've tried to plug amplified output and, at one plug I've got a continuous beeeeee... At the other, surprise, my music is playing but the signal appear to be so bad that I hear it far away!
