On a Gateway 400VTX laptop with an "Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device rev 1"
I did this a few days ago:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel
and it did not fix the issue then, but today after the last update and a reboot, it works fine.
dpkg -s xserver-xorg-video-intel|grep Version: Version: 2:2.9.0+git20091125.917f9bb2-0ubuntu0tormod~karmic
