Comment 341 for bug 160311

This bug is really annoying. Sufficiently annoying that I registered an account on launchpad just to post this comment.

I just got upgraded to ubuntu 12.04 on a machine where have no root access, so I can't hack any of the settings. It seems my only real option is to abandon gnome and use a different window manager.
