Our experience is indeed different. I simply cannot make the pointer appear using a trackpad. It often takes me upwards of 5'' to find the correct pixel.

Funnily enough, I've had four separate Ubuntu users comment on this behavior independently, just during the last week. I'm glad to see this being fixed in Natty but a backport would be nice indeed.
