Launchpad doesn't support anonymous bug reports. There's a real value in knowing who reported a bug and in being able to contact them to get further information if it's needed. Moreover, requiring some form of authentication helps to reduce spam (though not to stop it completely, alas).

Um. So you are meaning to say that Microsoft has more accessibility than ubuntu + launchpad then ? (in this regard).

I know that on debian i can send a bug via just an email address ...via the reportbug utility. I suggest that emails can be used as identification... So it is not an 'anonymous' bug report. It is important because users often do *not* want to sign up just report a bug.

I do not think this is invalid, please reconsider other forms of identification. Thank you.

I meant it it should be reconsidered -> for the 'will not fix' (it was not marked invalid).

db, note this is a duplicate of bug #50653 -- all activity should take place there (but please read that bug before making any comments, as it has more context).

Best,
