Rather than doing a major system architecture fiddle on every logrotation/app restart, is it possible to fix bug https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/launchpad-foundations/+bug/287304 such that the problem naturally goes away?
Such that is no longer a need to flip app servers in/out of a load balancer at all? Manually adjusting the LB seems like a major violation of the KISS principle... :-/
We're also looking at some options to reduce the interruption on edge rollouts.
