The connection might really be timing out. I noticed yesterday that edge was unusually slow. If you give Launchpad a complex task when it's slow (I don't know how complex creating a bug comment it), it might legitimately time out. You can specify a 'timeout' option when you create the Launchpad object. But the real question in this model is: why is edge so slow?
