Tom, I think your suggestion (2) above is either the same as bug #317136 or is a subset of it. Re (1): getting rid of the "field" prefix would help, and not showing empty fields would help. But still, using the original URL in this report as an example, how many fields are actually empty? 5 out of 15. Here's the URL divided into parts:
