A better answer to this would possibly reduce the frequency of people asking misdirected questions, which is a drag on Launchpad and Ubuntu development.

The Launchpad home page has "find answers" which is a reasonable thing to try, but once you're on <https://answers.launchpad.net/> there's nothing obvious to do next.
