Altough I see that is has been an issue back in 2009, I do still observe this behavior in Inkscape 0.48.3.1 r9886 under Ubuntu Linux 12.04.
Exporting to PDF with set property "Convert text to paths" renders fonts with an additional outline. Is this a regression from 0.47 to 0.48?
