yes, there is some duplication of paths on top of each other. I've lost the original .svg file but tried to reproduce it here. When I ask for two tiled clones, the first clone lies directly on top of the original O. So I now manually deleted that duplicate and then regenerated the .ps file. The two O's still appear to be different.
