If the --enable-system-cairo theory in comment 11 is correct, I predict that the latest mozilla-central version should *not* be broken for you, because it doesn't use --enable-system-cairo.
(mozilla-central nightlies haven't used --enable-system-cairo for some time now, though it's possible that the older versions (i.e. the ones you tested) did. You can check a particular version's build configuration by visiting "about:buildconfig" in the build.)
